Lampshade Size Guide
Finding the Perfect Fit for Your Space ✧
We'll help you size things up beautifully. Finding the right fit isn't just about looks, it's about balance, proportion, and making sure your shade doesn't outshine (or underwhelm) the space.
We currently offer four standard drum lampshade sizes; we can also customise a size and shape to meet your needs. Find below our custom Design information. When it comes to lamp shades, there are no strict rules, if you love it, then it's the right shade.

How to Measure Lamp Shade Dimensions
Use the 1/3 Rule for Height and the 2/3 Rule for Width
Finding the right lampshade is easy when you follow this simple rule of thumb:
1. Measure Your Lamp
Lamp base height:
Measure from the bottom of the base to the top of the bulb socket.
Lamp base width:
Measure around the widest part of the lamp base.
2. Choose Your Shade Size
For a well-proportioned look, your lampshade should always be wider than the widest part of your lamp base.
Base width: Aim for the base to be roughly half the total lamp height.
Shade width: Choose a shade that’s about twice the width of the base.
This simple rule helps keep your lamp looking balanced, elegant, and just the right amount of dramatic.
3. Replacing an Old Shade?
If you're simply replacing an old lampshade, follow these steps for the perfect size:
Measure the top Diameter x Bottom Diameter x Height (or Slant Height if your shade has one. From top of the shade to bottom of the shade, measured along the side)
'How to Measure Your Lamp and Shade for a Perfect Match'
The shape of the lampshade should generally mimic the shape of the lamp base
A larger shade can sometimes create just the right touch of style on a smaller lamp base.
An Oval shade can add a special touch to a tall lamp base.

💡 Why Choose an Opaque Globe?
We recommend using an opaque globe for your light fixture. It helps diffuse the light evenly, creating a soft glow without harsh shadows. Clear globes can often create uneven light and visible glare, which an opaque option avoids.
This makes for a more comfortable and consistent lighting experience in your space.
